Friends of Pedal Power Project

The cycling charity for all

About us

We’re a charity based in Cardiff that encourages and enables children and adults of all ages and abilities to experience the benefits of cycling. We're dedicated to removing the barriers to cycling that many people face, providing equity for people living with disabilities. Your generous donations help power our mission, enabling us to make a real difference to people's lives through our services.

Accessible cycling is about more than just riding a bike – it offers freedom, independence and a sense of achievement to people who may face daily challenges due to disability or other barriers. The health and social benefits of cycling are well recognised however, think how much harder it is to cycle if you are disabled and equipment and facilities are not geared to your needs. Without the access to our specialised equipment, many people would not have the opportunity to participate in physical activity, connect with others, and experience the joy and confidence that cycling brings.

Our outreach work is especially effective at removing barriers for those who can only participate when the provision is brought directly to them. We take our specially adapted trikes and bikes out to communities, schools and hospitals to deliver our services and make a difference to people's lives. Helping to transform attitudes towards disability, promote healthier lifestyles and build a more inclusive cycling culture. Alongside our adapted trikes and bikes we also have regular bikes that friends, family and care workers can use, so that cycling can be a social activity too.

We are deeply gratefull for every contribution. Thanks to your commitment and support we can continue offering these services. The funds you raise help us to:

Maintain our fleet of specially adapted trikes and bikes for people with disabilities or additional needs.

Run inclusive cycling sessions and outreach programs.

Train staff and volunteers to help more people access cycling.

Provide fun inclusive activites in our accessible café.
